did you make a Christmas wishlist this year or leave everything up to chance?
Begrudgingly, I did have a Christmas wish list this year. I kind of hate giving people wish lists because I’m genuinely curious to see what other people come up with (I feel like the best/funniest gifts happen that way), and I feel like sort of an asshole as a TWENTY NINE YEAR OLD PROFESSIONAL ADULT asking my parents for gifts like I’m 5. But my parents demand one, so I gave them a wish list. Here’s what was on it:
- Gold Ray-Bans, like a boss
- Those Echo Touch gloves that everyone with a smart phone desperately needs
- Magazine sorters that I can use for files on my desk at work (PROFESH TO DEATH)
- An All Saints beanie, because I look like Feivel from An American Tale in any other sort of winter hat.
I also asked The Dude for a nice travel blanket/pillow/socks situation, since we’re going to be doing all of this flying over the next few weeks. We exchanged gifts on Tuesday, and he got me the SOFTEST cashmere travel set IN THE WORLD. And! Remember how I said I was going to frame a bunch of shit on the wall above our bed like this? Well, clearly I framed one thing and then gave up, but The Dude remembered and gave me two really cool framed black and white photographs (one is of the Rotunda at UVA, wahoowa), as well as a gift certificate to frame some old drawings of mine. IT WAS A HAPPY CHRISTMAS ALL AROUND.
